Banana peel vegan bacon can be very satisfying, and a good replacement for the real bacon.
It’s crispy, smoky, and full of flavour.

The main reason of trying this recipe is that I’m currently trying my best to reduce my kitchen waste as it has many benefits for you and for the environment.

Banana peel vegan bacon recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 4 ripe banana peel skins
  • 1 tbsp smoked barbecue sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp ground garlic
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds

Banana peel vegan bacon recipe directions:

1- use a spoon or knife to scrap the pulp of the banana peel from the skin, and discard the pulp.

2- In a bowl, combine the smoked barbecue sauce, honey, soy sauce, garlic and water. Blend until combined.

3- put the banana peels in a flat layer in a deep plate. Pour the the sauce blend over the peels. Make sure it’s fully coated.
Let them sit in the fridge for 2 hours.

4- In a medium sized non stick frying pan, heat 1/2 cup of oil over medium heat. Fry the banana peel for 4 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.

5- garnish with sesame seeds and serve it over your favourite toast.
